August 2012:
Roy is excited to begin doctoal studies at Boston College - Lynch School of Education this fall 2012.

July 2012: Roy had presented a research paper at the CESA 8th Bieannial Conference at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.


June 2012: Roy had successfully participated in the 1st International Youth Forum for Policy, Change, and Development as the only U.S. ambassador at Sharda University in Greater Noida, India. 

 
June 2012: Roy had presented a research paper at the 2nd National Conference on Excellence in Higher Education at the Indian Institute of Technology - Department of Management Studies at New Delhi, India.


May 2012: Roy had presented a poster at the NAFSA 64th Annual Conference & Expo in Houston, Texas. A full JPG copy of the poster is available at support@rychan.com  


April 2012: Roy received an acceptance offer to pursue Ph.D. studies in Higher Education at Boston College - Lynch School of Education. Congratulations!!!


February 2012:
Roy had successfully published his first research article on the Taylor & Francis Group at the Studies in Higher Education journal. It is available online at your local library.

January 2012:
Roy joined the University of Pennsylvania - Graduate School of Education to pursue graduate level courses in Higher Education during the spring 2012 term.

 

* December 2011: Roy recently published a book through LAMBERT Academic Publishing entitled "Students' Experience at World-Class Universities in China". The book is now available for purchase via Amazon.com for $80.00 USD. For a reduced fee, please contact support@rychan.com.

  

* November 2011: Roy recently joined the Chinese Taipei Comparative Education Society and participated as delegate during the 4th annual Conference on International Comparison of Teacher Quality at Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

 
* October 2011: Roy and his fellow colleagues from HKU hosted a party with Chinese University of Hong Kong Postgraduate Student Association on October 28, 2011. Roy was invited to partake as MC during the event.

 

*September 2011Roy and his fellow colleauges from the HKU Postgraduate Student Association received a warm special gift to celebrate the 100th birthday of HKU with Professor Lap-Chee Tsui, Vice-Chancellor of President of the University of Hong Kong.


* July 2011: Roy joined the Loyola University Chicago - Rome Center to participate in the 7th annual summer school of education course at Rome, Italy.


*June 2011: Roy successfully led and organized the 14th annual Tea Gathering held at the HKU University Lodge with the HKU Postgraduate Student Association.

 
*May 2011: Roy was invited by the UCI Alumni Association to present the 2011 Lauds and Laurels Award to Michael Q. Nguyen as Outstanding Undergraduate Student of the Year.

 
Roy was invited to perform a short dance at the residence of HKU Vice-Chancellor's Lap-Chee Tsui with the HKU Museum Society. 
 
*April 2011: Roy was invited to play as leading guest starr with the HKU English Drama Society new threatre production enttiled "Through Looking Glasses."


Roy accepted invitation to become a Student Research Assistant for the HKU Sustainability Office.

 

* March 2011:
Roy had organized and led the first annual PGSA Buddy Programme with the HKU Postgraduate Student Association.
 

 
Roy embarked on a short vacation to Bali, Indonesia during the 2011 Chinese New Year holidays with Gap Adventures.

 
 
* February 2011: Roy had performed at the 43rd Annual University Choir Concert with the HKU Student Union Choir in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
* January 2011: Roy led the celebration of the HKU 100th Centenary celebration with Vice-Chancellor Professor Lap-Chee Tsui.

* November 2010: Roy met with the Executive Committee of the Rotaract Club of HKU for a quick group photo after a high table dinner.

 
* November 2010: Roy and the HKU Postgraduate Student Association - 2010-2011 Executive Committee pose for a group photo.
 
  
* October 2010: Roy met and visited Vice-Chancellor and President Lap-chee Tsui at The University of Hong Kong University Lodge. 
 
* September 2010: Roy moved to Hong Kong to begin an year-long graduate program at The University of Hong Kong (HKU).

* August 2010: Chan had traveled back to mainland China and partook in the 2010 LSE-PKU Summer School held at Beijing, China. Roy enrolled in a course entitled "China foreign policy" with renowned Professor & Dean Wang Jisi, School of International Studies at Peking University.

* July 2010: Roy had traveled back to the United States of America to visit friends and family over the summer. Chan also had the opportunity to meet Mayor Alan Mansoor City of Costa Mesa for his recognition teaching English abroad in mainland China.
Roy had participated in the '2010 Summer Dance Intensive' with the L.A. Contemporary Dance Center.

* June 2010: Roy completed his final month teaching English abroad through the "WorldTeach" program from Harvard University from August 2009 to June 2010 at Hengyang, Hunan Province, China.


Roy had attended the "2010 Passion World Tour" on June 5, 2010 sponsored by the 268 generation.

* May 2010: Roy submitted his statement of intent to enroll in a two-week professional certificate seminar entitled "Global Sustainability Leadership" at the UC Irvine Extension this summer.

Roy have officially decided to travel to Istanbul, Turkey this summer from July 2, 2010 to July 10, 2010 sponsored through Gap Adventures. Pictures to come soon!
Roy received a Make A Difference certificate from "OneWorld Classrooms" for his contribution to support hundreds of schools to receive artworks across the world.
Roy received a Honorably Certificate from the Hunan Department of Education on May 22, 2010 for his contribution serving as a volunteer teacher at Hengyang Number Eight High School at Hengyang, Hunan Province, China sponsored through "WorldTeach."

 
< xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">* April 2010: Roy received an acceptance letter to pursue a master degree in Higher Education at The University of Hong Kong Faculty of Education, the #1 ranked University in Asia and the #24 ranked in the entire world.

Roy attended the "2010 Worship Central" conference at Hong Kong on Saturday, April 24, 2010, a school of worship from Alpha International led by Tim Hughes & Al Gordan.

Roy successfully completed his first online course through the UC San Diego Extension as a candidate for a specialized certificate in Gifted and Talented Education(GATE Program)

* March 2010: Roy received an invitation letter to enroll in a LSE-PKU Summer Course at Peking University sponsored through the London School of Economics and Political Science, the most selective university in Great Britain today. He will be taking a course entitled "China and the World: Chinese Foreign Policy since 1949" taught by the Dean of the School of International Studies at Peking University.

Roy received an invitation letter to teach English at the University of Hue in Vietnam this summer through "Volunteers in Asia(VIA)." He declined the offer to attend Peking University this summer.
* February 2010: Roy had backpacked to Vietnam during the spring festival holiday visiting Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, and Hanoi with Contiki Holidays.

* January 2010: Through the support from friends and family in the community, Roy established the Roy Chan Foundation to help rural Chinese students achieve their educational dreams in mainland China.
 
 
* December 2009: Roy received his ticket to attend the highly prestigious WorldExpo 2010 in Shanghai, China on May 1, 2010.
* November 2009: Through kind generous funds from friends and family, Roy pledged US $300.00 to the Rural Education Action Project(REAP) at Stanford University to help rural Chinese students achieve their educational dreams. Click Here to read the Thank You letter from Stanford University.

* September 2009
: Through the support of his current Advisory Board, Roy was appointed as the current founder & President of the China Institute for Higher Education(CIHE).
* August 2009: Roy accepted invitation to commit for one-full year to teach English in China with the WorldTeach program under the Center for International Development at Harvard University. Outside of teaching, Chan is expected to volunteer with the International China Concern orphanage in Hengyang, China as well as volunteer as a staff for the World Choir Games in Shaoxing, China in July 2010. 

* June 2009: Roy graduated from the University of California, Irvine on June 14, 2009 with a B.A. degree in Criminology, Law & Society along with triple minors in English Literature, Cultural Anthropology, and Educational Studies. Chan graduated with a total of 374.1 UC Quarter Units, the highest UC completed quarter units in the Class of 2009.

* May 2009: Roy was inducted as a founding member of the Sigma Alpha Pi: The National Society of Leadership and Success on May 30, 2009.
On May 25, 2009, Roy Chan's website has gained international recognition over the past three years receiving nearly 6,000+ hits since the site's founding in 2006.
Roy became a member of the fraternity Alpha Phi Omega - Rho Rho chapter at UCI on May 27, 2009. He became a Life Member on July 16, 2009.

Roy was inducted as a chartered member of the Rotaract Club at UCI on May 22, 2009.
Roy joined the Community Service and Leadership Program, sponsored by the UCI School of Social Sciences. He received an Advanced Leadership certificate on May 23, 2009.
 
* April 2009: Roy was featured in the UCI Center for International Education alumni newsletter in the section "UCI Global Leadership Program" on April 15, 2009.

Roy was appointed Director of Photography under the City of Santa Ana and the County of Orange for Legislative Councilmember and Library Board of Trustees Michael Q. Nguyen on April 1, 2009.

* February 2009:Roy was nominated to participate in the 2009 Homecoming Court as Homecoming King finalist at UCI on February 7, 2009.
 
* January 2009: Roy announced the 2009-2010 Advisory Board on July 1, 2009.
 
* December 2008: Roy was selected as the Associated Students Academic Affairs Office, Was selected "Intern of the Quarter", Fall 2008.
Roy performed in the 2008 Nutcracker production with the Maple Conservatory of Dance from December 20, 2008 to December 22, 2008.

* November 2008: Roy was selected as the 2008 Living Our Values Award Student Honor Roll under the Office of the Chancellor, Michael Drake.

* July 2008: Roy volunteered as Cafe Team Facilitator in Stafford, England at Soul Survivor in the United Kingdom. He was the first U.S. volunteer to ever come and serve at Soul Survivor, United Kingdom on July 29, 2008.

* April 2008: Roy was hired at Law Offices of Clement Cheng as a Adminstrative Legal Assistant in Fountain Valley, CA on April 14, 2008.

* January 2008: Roy became an member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity Epsilon Class at UC Irvine on January 22, 2008.

Roy discussed with world renowned author Michael Leahy about the controversial topic about Porn in America at the UC Irvine campus and his new book Porn Nation (PDF file) on January 18, 2008.

Roy transferred from UC Riverside to UC Irvine as a sophormore in fall 2005 as the one of the few undergraduate to successfully transfer from one UC to another UC in less than one year.
* June 2004: Roy submitted his Student Intent to Register(SIR) at UC Riverside June 2004.
Roy graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School in the top 10 percentile among high school students on June 14, 2004.
